Casa Melita

Casa Melita is an authentically 400 year old house of character situated in the historical village of Rabat. This beautiful 3 bedroomed house, which has been recently restored to include modern comforts lies in a peaceful pedestrian road close to St Paul parish church and village core. All the downstairs rooms surround a sunny courtyard, with barbecue facilities and full privacy. The ground floor includes a wide entrance hall, a fully-equipped separate kitchen and dining area and a lovely lounge/ living room, complete with satellite television. There is also a guest toilet on the ground floor. Access to the first floor is through an internal stone staircase. On the first floor you'll find three double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom facilities. The main bathroom is also found on this floor. Access to the roof terrace is through a wrought iron spiral staircase. On this floor you can enjoy a lovely roof terrace from where you can admire the surrounding old and peaceful villages. This rustic house is beautifully furnished and delightfully blends antique and Swedish-pine furniture.

    “Our vacation was really great in every way with the exception of the noise caused by the daily fireworks. NB Mr. Tanti was always available and I would like to thank him again.
    Positive: The proximity to the old town of Mdima, the many restaurants with a garden, the good bus connections to all places and of course the great apartment.
    Cons: In the first week of July I would not go on vacation to Rabat anymore because the whole city celebrates a festival for a week and fireworks are lit day and night.

    “An excellently equipped holiday home in a central location in Rabat. Mr. Tanti (landlord) tries very hard to give his guests a good start to their vacation, also with tips and hints. The house is very spacious and quiet because it is in a pedestrian zone. All of Rabat and Mdina can be easily explored on foot. Several restaurants and shops within a 5-minute walk. There is also a starting supply (bread, milk, sausage, cheese, water) for the first day in the fridge! All in all - especially a recommendable quarter for families - in the typical Maltese style.
    Positive: The friendly reception and the charm of the house.
    Cons: The time-consuming search for a parking space - but that is a general problem in downtown Rabat
    Excursions: Red Tower - In the northwest of the island (near Mellieha) there is a "Red Tower".
